Challenge
Those living in the UAE are familiar with the struggle to manage a households without a maid, a cook or a babysitter. Being a parent is a full-time job, and from time to time you will need time off while knowing that your child or home is in good hands. The time-intensive working life in Dubai leads to a high demand for household support. However, finding the right person can be a challenge.

The GOAL
Create a mobile app that supports the recruitment process of a domestic staff. Households and families can access information and avail the portal on which qualified domestic workers looking for employment are listed. Our goal as a design team was to:
  • Create an easy to use application with a simple mobile experience
  • Provide a function that enables easy scheduling of interviews with candidates
  • Ensure that candidates can be easily compared with each other
  • Set up a system for users to book an appointment using an online ticket

An easy to use app for families and individuals who want to hire qualified and trustworthy domestic workers. The app supports informational needs and makes the recruitment process more efficient. By booking appointments at the Tadbeer service center through the app, coordination costs and waiting times were reduced.

The biggest challenge is time

We realized early on that users are looking for domestic workers primarily because they don't have enough time due to work and other commitments. While Tadbeer's services are great for finding reliable talent, the time factor was not considered. Going to the service centers meant booking appointments and physically being on-site to meet with potential candidates, possibly multiple times, until finding the right one.

This is at odds with what users primarily consider the service for, which is to save time. A mobile app was the right approach for busy users such as parents. The user can browse Tadbeer's entire range of products at any time from everywhere and schedule physical meetings efficiently.

Visual Design

The app has been designed with ease of use in mind, with friendly and welcoming colors. A simple view of services that immediately moves to inform the user of matching domestic workers based on the user's criteria. With relevant functionalities easily accessible through navigation, including advanced search, list of domestic workers, nearest service centers, and customer support.

Compare Talents

To find the person who best fits one's household and family needs, the app offers a comparison feature of talents in the same category.

Interviewing candidates made easy

Scheduling a session took a lot of time for both clients and service centers. Occasionally, clients forgot about their session. The centers had to remind them via email and call. This also posed a problem for the centers, as they could have used this time slot to serve other customers.

With the app, the user logs into their account, navigates to the customer's profile and selects the "Book Interview" option, then selects the day and time, immediately checks availability, and finally confirms the appointment. The user receives a notification on the app on the day of the interview and can reschedule the appointment in time via the app.

Request service tickets online

Users can request a service ticket in advance or on the way to the service center and save time by being served faster.

Results
